Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Real Estate Photography

We typically schedule a photographer to be on site for a little less than an hour for a 2-3 bedroom home. This allows time for the photographer to take 35 photos and make sure the composition and angles good to go.
Larger homes and properties take longer and if you ordered additional services like aerial photos, 3D tour and video it will extend the time we’re a the listing. To give you an example, if we’re doing The Works package which is aerial photos, aerial video and interior photos and interior video, we typically can get that done in about 2 hours for a 3-4 bedroom house. -
Sorry but this is not something within our scope of work. The real estate agent is responsible for making sure the home is ready for picture day!
Our photographers are trained to take a 5-10 minute walk-through of the property and let the agent/homeowner know if anything last minute needs to be moved. We might quickly adjust a pillow or a blanket to aid in a composition but beyond that it is the responsibility of the agent and the homeowner to make sure the property is photography ready by the time the appointment starts.Our photographers are not allowed to move clutter, toys, boxes, etc. and are trained to shoot the home as-is. This allows our photographer to maximize the use of their appointment time and make sure you get the best angles. If the house is dirty or cluttered, we will do our best to shoot it as is in the time that we are scheduled to be there. Any retakes will be scheduled with the appropriate fee.
We have a checklist that you can download and pass on to your client to help get ready for real estate photos.

Honestly, it makes the photo shoot that much more stressful and we discourage it. We’re there to take photos and focus on making sure you’re home looks amazing. We are not there to teach our techniques and frankly, one day is not enough time to learn what a professional photographer does. These skills are built up over years of experience shooting many different types of homes.
For best results, we highly encourage our agents and homeowners to be out of the house during the shoot. Our best photography shoots are when the home is cleaned, staged and VACANT. This allows us time to compose our shots and make sure that we’re not missing anything. -
We only charge for cancellations that are last minute which we define as one day before the shoot starts. If you reschedule more than 24 hours prior to the shoot, we have a chance to fill that spot with another listing. However, if you cancel within the 24 hour window, we will charge a cancellation fee.
We have to do this in order to be fair to other agents as well as other photographers. We highly encourage you to contact your homeowner and make sure the house is ready for photos on the day of the shoot by physically looking at the property earlier in the week. This avoids last minute cancellations or having to move stuff around the day of the shoot. -

Even with our TruView™ photography, we cannot guarantee absolute color matching. Time of day, internal lighting, paint color all play an effect to getting the color balance just right. If there’s an egregious error on our end, you can be sure we’ll fix it as soon as possible.
However, if we start going down the path of whether the rug is cerulean or manganese blue - we might be working outside the standard price range.
If you simply didn’t like the photos because the house was dirty or cluttered, we’re happy to schedule another shoot once you have the house ready for picture day - at full price. Again, prepping, cleaning and staging the home is on the real estate agent and seller to complete. -
No, the next agent will need to pay a re-licensing fee. Don’t worry, you can still use the photos to market yourself, create social media ads and to showcase your business but you do not get transfer rights with a PixVid photography shoot.

One of the reasons that we are able to keep costs low is because like most photography companies, we’re able to supplement the income with stock photography. Quite often we get asked by builders, architects, construction companies and other 3rd parties to license photos to them to show off their products that we might’ve taken at a shoot. This is why we reserve the right to transfer or re-sell our images.

AirBnB/VRBO and photos for rentals fall under a different usage license due to the commercial repeat nature of what they’re used for. So yes! But you’ll have to pay a different copyright licensing fee to use those.
